I build agent systems for institutional finance.
Currently, Engineering Manager at Hypha ↗

A continuous current. An unfolding story.

From the first line of code
to systems people depend on.

Since 2017, my work has moved through software, data, and AI. I’ve worked inside a global financial enterprise, joined a startup as employee #2, and now lead engineers building AI for institutional finance. Along the way: Pakistan, Italy, Germany, and New York.

Different environments. Increasing responsibility.
A closer look at what I built, how it works, and why it matters.

NEW YORK

Hypha↗

Engineering Manager / AI systems & engineering leadership

Turning fragmented financial documents into intelligence that people can act on.

I lead a team of eight engineers and stay hands-on across the agent platform, document intelligence, and evaluation infrastructure. The work supports credit and asset-management teams through covenant analysis, credit memos, lender narratives, and financial spreading.

What I built & how +

A reusable agent platform

Isolated E2B execution, pluggable Claude and OpenAI runtimes, permission-scoped MCP tools, durable state, and skills. One foundation for interactive analysis and background financial workflows.

An operational knowledge graph

Configurable entities, relationships, attributes, source rules, and computed entities. Agents, analytics, and automation work from the same model of a customer’s business.

Quality beyond a demo

Retry-safe ingestion across PDFs, Excel, and email. Cited, versioned writes. Langfuse evaluations, regression datasets, and Axiom monitoring to check grounding and workflow reliability.

NEW YORK

AgentSmyth↗

Staff AI Engineer / Early team, platform architecture

From employee #2 to enterprise financial intelligence.

I joined at the beginning and led technical strategy as the product grew into a production multi-agent platform. I built systems that combined market data, earnings transcripts, retrieval, and financial reasoning to produce fully cited research and portfolio insights.

What I built & how +

Specialized agents, shared infrastructure

Autonomous macro, quantitative, options, and sentiment agents using OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, and Perplexity. Retrieval through Pinecone and LlamaIndex across more than 100 financial data sources.

Built to reach enterprise users

Distributed orchestration on AWS Lambda and SQS, event-driven processing, and both SaaS and on-premises deployments. I contributed across architecture, customer deployments, roadmap, and engineering execution.

A company milestone

Helped scale the business to $1M ARR and help secure $9.1M in funding. A team outcome, with my contribution centered on technical strategy and implementation.

S&P Global↗

Data Scientist → Senior Data Scientist / Market Intelligence

Machine learning at the scale of global finance.

I built credit-risk models and a cloud scoring platform for unrated issuers, then expanded into document intelligence, retrieval-based analytics, ESG forecasting, and investment-banking automation.

What I built & how +

Credit risk, on demand

Python-based models and AWS infrastructure to scale issuer scoring. The result extended coverage while reducing manual work.

From financial text to analyst workflows

LLM summarization and topic modeling for Capital IQ Pro, retrieval-augmented analytics APIs, and transformer-based analysis of SEC climate disclosures. Separate document-intelligence work identified $6.8M in revenue potential. I also automated Public Information Book generation for investment-banking teams.

Recognition

Rising Star Award as a Data Scientist; Brand Ambassador Award as a Senior Data Scientist.

Built beyond the brief.

01 / TDF OFFERSINDEPENDENT PROJECT

A small automation.
A very real payoff.

A Telegram-first monitor for TDF theatre availability. It checks for new offers, remembers what it has already seen, and sends a daily digest—so I can spend less time checking a website.

Inside the build +

Cloudflare Workers run the scheduled checks. Persistent seen-history suppresses repeat alerts. Browserbase handles authentication recovery when a session expires, with recovery throttling to keep failures under control.

An isolated Worker harness exercises live integrations in a separate Telegram chat. A main-only deployment workflow runs quality checks before publishing.

02 / CIVICS COACH · VOICE AI

Civics practice,
in conversation.

A voice-led app for practicing U.S. civics questions out loud, studying the question set, and reviewing what needs work next. English-first interviewing with optional Urdu explanations makes the practice more approachable.

Inside the build +

Realtime voice interviews pair with structured answer grading and a separate study mode. The grading path supports English and Urdu coaching fields, so feedback can explain an answer alongside evaluating it.

03 / AGENT SYSTEMS · LOCAL DEMO

When a conversation
needs to become an action.

A booking agent built around durable threads, explicit confirmation, transactional scheduling, ownership, and retry protection.

The engineering question +

How do you preserve conversational flexibility while keeping an authoritative appointment record? This local demo makes ownership, availability, and confirmed changes explicit. SMS is simulated.

04 / APPLIED RESEARCH · LOCAL EXPERIMENT

Teaching a model
what to look for.

A local Apple Silicon lab for LoRA fine-tuning and structured lease-term extraction. Explicit output contracts and evaluation artifacts make experiments inspectable.

The engineering question +

How do you make extraction experiments reproducible? The lab keeps training, extraction contracts, and evaluation together, with explicit synthetic-data boundaries. It makes no claim about real-contract accuracy.

05 / CITIGRC · BUSINESS WEBSITE

A local business.
A place of its own.

A website for a home-remodeling business serving Long Island and New York City. A different kind of build: clear services, a local identity, and a direct path to getting in touch.

01

Agent systems

Runtime design, orchestration, tool contracts, durable execution, and permission boundaries. Built at Hypha and AgentSmyth.

02

Document & entity intelligence

Ingestion, extraction, retrieval, entity resolution, knowledge graphs, and source-grounded answers. From financial documents to operational context.

03

Evaluation & operations

Regression datasets, LLM-as-a-judge, observability, model monitoring, and recovery. Measure what happens after a system leaves the demo.

04

Engineering leadership

Technical strategy, hands-on implementation, roadmap decisions, mentoring, and enterprise delivery. Currently managing eight engineers.
